Immerse Dance Studio (“Immerse”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information we collect about you and your child. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct it.

2) What we collect

We may collect personal information including:

• Parent/guardian name, email, phone number
• Child's name and (if provided) age/year level (and optionally date of birth)
• Emergency contact details
• Relevant medical/allergy/injury information you provide
• Booking, attendance, and payment information
• Photos/videos taken during classes and events (see “Media” below)
• Website analytics data (e.g., IP address, device type, pages visited) via cookies/analytics tools

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for running classes, keeping children safe, managing bookings/payments, and communicating with families.

3) Why we collect it

We collect and use personal information to:

• Process bookings, payments, and class administration
• Contact you about class updates, cancellations, changes, and events
• Keep children safe and respond appropriately in emergencies
• Improve our services and website experience
• Share class media for marketing (where consent applies — see Section 6)

4) How we collect it

We collect information when you:

• Fill in a form (Expression of Interest, booking, waiver, newsletter)
• Communicate with us (email, social media, messages)
• Use our website/booking platform

5) Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to trusted providers who help us operate:

• Booking/payment processors (e.g., Wix Bookings or other platforms)
• Email/SMS providers
• Cloud storage (e.g., Google Drive/Dropbox)
• Professional advisers where required (accountant, insurer)

We do not sell your personal information.

6) Photography & Videography (Media)

We may take photos/videos during classes, rehearsals, showcases, and events for:

• Parent updates and class recap videos
• Social media posts and paid ads
• Website and promotional materials (digital/print)

By booking your child into a class at Immerse Dance Studio, you consent to photography/videography of your child which may be used for marketing and promotional purposes.

If you wish to opt out, you must email immersedancestudio@gmail.com in writing before your child attends so we can note your preference. If you opt out, your child may be asked to step aside during filming/photography moments, which may affect their experience (we will keep this to a minimum where possible).

7) Security & storage

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Information is stored digitally using password-protected systems and reputable providers. No online system is 100% secure, but we work to minimise risk.

8) Access & correction

You can request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by emailing immersedancestudio@gmail.com.

9) Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
